Peanut Butter Toast

Leo's working hard at making his own meals, especially favorites like peanut butter toast. And I do mean working -- there are so many steps, and using tools like pot holders is not easy for a dude who is working on his fine motor control. But he's doing so well. Though once peanut butter starts getting on one's fingers, it's hard not to lick it off mid-task. And honestly, what peanut butter lover hasn't want to just stick the whole peanut butter-covered knife* in their mouth?

*it is a very dull spreading knife.

  3. Wow. I'm so proud of him. TH works on this, too, although he has trouble handling the knife and spreading, so the result is a tad lumpy. The other day, he made this reasonably OK-looking sandwich, sat down at the table with it, and said, "Ah. I offer thanks to myself for making this great sandwich today."

I note that he 1) pushed the plastic bag out of the way (rather than ignoring it and getting peanut butter on everything, and not just his sandwich). 2) does anyone *not* lick the peanut butter off the knife?

What? You're NOT supposed to lick the knife? I turn 50 tomorrow and no one ever told ME this...
