Iz is starting fifth grade, Mali is starting her last year of preschool, and Leelo is now in second grade. I can't believe what great big children Seymour and I have.
They are happy to be off to school, and I'm happy to let them go, as it has been six weeks since the three of them have all been out of the house at the same time. Much as I adore them, I'm off to chip away at my brain and see if there's some sanity left therein...
Love Mali's expression!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you are thinking about middle school options and alternatives, but my daughter just started 6th grade at Odyssey in San Mateo... it's a tiny, supportive middle school for gifted kids. She's loving it. The whole school just left this morning for a 10 day trip... 7 days of 'camp' (ala Outdoor Ed) and then 3 days at the Oregon Shakespeare festival.
Just thought I'd throw that out there :-). -Anita R.
Thanks Anita! Odyssey sounds wonderful -- is it private? My daughter's school is a GATE magnet public elementary/middle school. I am thrilled about the way the nerdlings get a bit of coddling through the horrors of middle school, socially.
ReplyDeleteHow cute, I love the pics of the three of them together.
ReplyDeleteSchool is great! Jaymes loves it, I get a break, and Sierra gets some special attention. Everyone wins.
Where do you find those adorable outfits?!
Odyssey is private, yes, so if you are happy with where you are, you can save your pennies :-). But, yeah, avoiding the regular middle school social thing was probably just as important to us as getting the enhanced academics. -Anita
